A Peek into Black Diamond's Digital Transformation

27 April 2026

PT Black Diamond Resources Tbk (COAL), through its subsidiary, PT Dayak Membangun Pratama (DMP), has launched its operational digital transformation, or reached the GoLive phase, by implementing RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, a collaboration between SAP Indonesia and PT Trimitra Sistem Solusindo, or TMS Consulting, as implementation partners.

COAL management is optimistic about overcoming operational business challenges by adopting digital transformation in mining operational processes, which have been manually executed and handled by individual managers and not yet integrated. The digital operational business transformation, in collaboration with SAP through implementation partner TMS Consulting, is being implemented as a sustainable business practice through accuracy, efficiency, and integrated documentation.

This coal issuer uses SAP as its preferred enterprise resource planning (ERP) system due to the need for integrated processes and reports from each division, allowing departments requiring data to access them in a visual format.

COAL President Director Donny Janson Manua expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported the ongoing collaboration through the Go-Live phase. "We hope that with this digital transformation, we can achieve our goals of optimal and maximum growth while contributing to building a positive business for both internal and all company stakeholders," Donny said on Friday (August 4, 2023).

Andreas Diantoro, President Director of SAP Indonesia, stated that through the adoption of cloud technology, COAL is improving the efficiency of its operational processes and preparing its business for the future. The RISE solution with SAP will enable COAL to achieve seamless integration across all divisions, providing departments with instant access to critical data.

SAP has developed a production planning module report that helps more efficiently record production units. Furthermore, the maintenance plan module KPI report eliminates manual input and can be directly extracted from the KPI report. Furthermore, the controlling module's pricing solution automatically derives from cost center reports and production costs at each pit. Thus, previously overlapping job descriptions are now managed through job roles in SAP, with authorization.

The collaboration between SAP, through TMS Consulting, and COAL began in December 2022, followed by a Kick-Off Ceremony in January 2023, and is on track to reach the Go-Live stage in July 2023. The scope of the collaboration between COAL and TMS Consulting includes a blueprint workshop to review the company's transaction flow. This includes user testing of the SAP implementation, starting from the blueprint phase with key users responsible for business processes. This includes SAP implementation testing with end users, assisted by consultants. This includes leveraging master data and transactions in the pre-Go-Live market.
