TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – PT Black Diamond Resources Tbk (COAL), through its subsidiary, PT Dayak Membangun Pratama (DMP), is undertaking its operational digital transformation, or the Go-Live phase, of implementing RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
This transformation is the result of the company's collaboration with SAP Indonesia and PT Trimitra Sistem Solusindo, or TMS Consulting, as implementation partners.
The Go-Live Ceremony for RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Implementation was held recently and was attended by BDR President Director Donny Janson Manua, all BDR Directors: Edward Manurung, Muhammad Noval Zindann, and Yogi Adrian, as well as DMP Director Jeffry Tong.
The Go-Live ceremony was also attended by SAP Indonesia Industry Account Executive Lili Hartono, TMS Consulting COO Dery Hananto, and TMS Consulting Project Manager Susi Haryani.
Black Diamond Resources (BDR) optimistically responded to operational business challenges by adopting digital transformation in its mining operations, which had previously been manually executed, handled by individual managers and not yet integrated.
The digital operational transformation, in collaboration with SAP through its implementation partner, TMS Consulting, was implemented as a sustainable business practice through accuracy, efficiency, and integrated documentation.
BDR chose SAP as its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system due to the need for integrated processes and reports from each division, allowing departments requiring data to access them in a visual format.
Susi Haryani, Project Manager at TMS Consulting, explained that for this purpose, they created a production planning module report to help more efficiently record production units.
Furthermore, the KPI report for the maintenance plan module eliminates manual input and can be directly retrieved from the KPI report. Furthermore, the controlling module's pricing solution automatically derives from cost center reports and production costs at each pit.
"So, the division of job descriptions, which previously overlapped, is now regulated by job roles in SAP, which also include authorization," she said.
The collaboration between SAP, through TMS Consulting, and BDR began in December 2022, followed by a Kick-Off Ceremony in January 2023, and is on track to reach the Go-Live stage in July 2023.
The collaboration between PT Black Diamond Resources Tbk and TMS Consulting encompassed a blueprint workshop to examine transaction flows in the BDR. This included user testing of the SAP implementation from the blueprint phase to key users responsible for the business processes.
This led to SAP implementation testing for end users, with assistance from consultants. This included scaling up master data and transactions in the pre-Go-Live market.
COAL President Director Donny Janson Manua expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported the collaboration through to the Go-Live phase.

SAP Indonesia President Director Andreas Diantoro said that by adopting cloud technology, BDR is increasing efficiency in its operational processes and preparing its business for the future.
"Our RISE with SAP solution will enable BDR to achieve seamless integration across divisions, providing departments with instant access to critical data," he said in a written statement on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
This will help BDR grow optimally, make a positive contribution to the business, and enrich the lives of all stakeholders involved.
TMS Consulting was chosen as the implementation partner for this digital transformation because of its experience with mining sector customers and its mining package tailored to the operational needs of the mining sector.
TMS Consulting Chief Operating Officer, Dery Hananto, stated that this project's Go-Live marks the beginning of BDR's digital journey.
